Memory, often fragmented and vulnerable to oblivion, is a fluid material that tells non-linear stories.

Through family heirlooms, spools of thread salvaged from shuttered notions shops, and found objects, I carry out a work of emotional archaeology, creating embroidered relics enclosed in boxes that both protect and describe them, reconstructing visions and narratives.

I restore dignity to what has been forgotten or concealed; each artistic intervention is an attempt to give form to an identity in constant transformation, made of layers, scents, overlapping voices, and tactile experiences.

My research is a reflection on self-recovery—on rediscovery and reinterpretation that returns visibility to what has remained hidden in the folds of everyday life, opening a space for new possibilities of existence and understanding.

Izn (Sonia Piscicelli) was born in Naples in 1968 and graduated as a Graphic Designer from IED Rome in 1994.

She worked in various graphic design studios in Rome before beginning a freelance career (under the name Interzona), focusing mainly on artistic projects, web design, photography, and painting, while also creating stage sets and experimental works.

Her training includes oil painting, ceramic modeling and the Raku technique, large-format photographic collage, and assemblage art, before finally embracing contemporary embroidery art in 2018.
